Co., PA, will made, 25 Jan 1714. Christened in Quaker? Burial in Friends
Cem., Upper Providence, Chester Co., PA. Prob of Est:1717, in Chester
Co., PA, Will Bk A, vol 1, 1714-1820. Occupation: farmer.
According to the HISTORY OF CHESTER CO. PA. George Woodyer had 200 acres
in Chester Co., in 1689. He was taxed in Upper Providence Twp. in 1693
and in Chester Twp. in 1715.
He married, first, Elizabeth ???, before 1690, in Eng.
Children:
1) Mary Woodyear. Married Joseph Phipps, son of Joseph Phipps and
Mary Benfield of Reading, Eng., and of Philadelphia and Reading in PA.
2) Elizabeth Woodyer. Born, circa 1670 (?), in Eng. Died, before 1714,
in Chester Co., PA. Occupation: housewife. She married[33] John Turner,
1694, after 3m 7d. Elizabeth Woodyard and Thomas Eveson were presented
by the Grand Jury for fornication on 3d 4m 1688. Thomas Eveson and Richard
Woodward bound unto ye King & cov. that Thomas Eveson & Elizabeth
Woodyard to mary before ye 6d 5m next (Chester Co., PA Ct Rec Vol. 1,
pp. 127-128). There is no evidence that this marriage took place. In
1693 Philip Yarnall is named as the suitor of Elizabeth Woodyard a daughter
of George Woodyard (Chester Co., PA Ct. Rec. vol. 1, pp. 289-291). The
next year she married John Turner. He married[51], second, Mary Hoskins
in Chester Co., PA. Died, before 1714, in Chester Co., PA[52]. Occupation:
housewife.
