:
Hildegarde was the aunt of Baron Friedrick Wilhelm Agustus Henry Ferdinand
von Steuben, b. 1730, d. 1794
Merged General Note:!Also have date of death listed as 1739. Hildegarde
VON STEUBEN was an aunt of Baron Fredrick Wilhelm Augustus Henry Ferdinand
Von Steuben (1730-1794), Aide deCamp to Frederick The Great. The Baron
General came to America in 1777 to aid General George Washington during
the Revolutionary War. This relationship is supported by the fact that
General Von Steuben's daughter married Jacob Schreyack.
(My note: I have no listing of Jacob marrying a von Steuben. He married
twice : Barbara Wolfe and Hilda von Stidinger.) There is a county in
lower middle New York State, where Von Steuben retired, that is named
after him. He was appointed by General Washington as Inspector General
with the rank of Major General in 1778.
Death date shown as 1734 by our previous info (?) and 1735 by Kitty
Hood.
lso have date of death listed as 1739.
Hildegarde married Frederick
VAN SCHRIECK [198] [MRIN: 73], son of Jarick Hans VAN SCHRIECK [568]
and Unknown.1 2
(Frederick VAN SCHRIECK [198] was born in 1668 in Hanover, Prussia,
